Arkema-- Finalist of JEC Composites Innovation Awards 2022

The JEC Composites Innovation Awards are an opportunity to foster inspiration and cooperation between actors of the whole value chain. Arkema, in partnership with Somocap, is one of the 30 finalists for this 2022 edition in the Building and Civil Engineering category, through the project led by Optimas. This project is based on the SOF Radlink System, enables to connect easily and quickly each tunnel segments for underground infrastructure. It combines composite and thermoplastic process for durable solutions. The composite innovation of this project is based on the replacement of a conventional steel material solution by an innovative composite material and design to make a high strength and lightweight solution. The thermoplastic resin Elium made possible to make the main composite part by pultrusion and to thermoform the final part at the final design. After pre-selection of the finalists by an international jury representing the entire composites value chain, one winner will be selected during the awards ceremony which will be held on April 26 in Paris, a week before JEC World 2022.
