LORD, a Brazilian subsidiary of the North American LORD Corporation, has launched LORD Fusor 2001/2003 NG. Based on polyurethane, the product is suitable for bonding composites parts in processes characterized by high production rates, for example, in the automotive industry.
In comparison to conventional polyurethane adhesives, LORD Fusor 2001/2003 NG maintains the same open time, but reduces from 2h30 to 45 minutes the handling time. This characteristic meets one of the main demands of the automakers, target of the new LORD´s adhesive. “It is the ideal product for bonding bumpers, ceilings and panels, among other composites parts present in buses, trucks and agricultural vehicles”, said Andrios de Souza, LORD's sales supervisor.
From the point of view of application, LORD Fusor 2001/2003 NG is similar to other polyurethane based adhesives produced by LORD. “It has the same viscosity as the previous generation. Thus, the user does not have to make any changes to use this new formulation.” He reminds that the product will be the biggest attraction of the company's booth at Feiplar Composites (November 6-8), the main composites industry trade fair in Latin America.
