Johns Manville Displayed New Applications at JEC World 2018

Johns Manville presented innovative applications based on thermoplastic organo sheets and typical composites at JEC World 2018 in Paris. Thermoplastic organo sheets offer high strength and allow for significant weight reduction compared to traditional materials. Other thermoset applications were displayed to demonstrate the benefits and the potential of composites materials in this growing market. JM also showcased the winning entry from students at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, in the SMC/BMC 2017 Design Award competition. The award was presented by the SMC/BMC Alliance and sponsored by Johns Manville. The students designed a modular compost bin and planter called a Kuzo that can be placed at playgrounds. The bin was designed using SMC and BMC technology. Furthermore, Johns Manville celebrated 160 years in business at JEC World 2018.
