Hexcel Successfully Completes EFIPreg Research and Development Project

Hexcel Corporation has successfully completed its Efficient Prepreg (EFIPreg) Research and Development project, supported by a EUR 470,993 grant awarded by the Spanish Centre for Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project focused on developing a new aerospace prepreg designed to enhance efficiency and scalability for high-rate aircraft production. Through the EFIPreg program, a team of Hexcel employees at the company’s Parla facility developed a new composite prepreg material that delivers measurable improvements across multiple stages of the manufacturing process. The material enables faster lay-up times, reduces waste, offers process time savings, and simplifies manufacturing steps, helping streamline production for high-rate aerospace programs.
