G12, a Brazilian company specializing in technologies involving the use of composites, created a fully industrialized modular construction system that integrates kitchen, bathroom and laundry into a single structure.
Developed at the request of the Argentinean company Materiales Compuestos, the innovation called the Wet Core Pod won the JEC Innovation Awards at JEC World 2018. G12 was invited by the Brazilian embassy in France to show its work.
In addition to being an innovative construction solution, the Brazilian development combines the use of five composite molding processes, and it is worth noting that it is not limited to the fabrication of the Wet Core Pod – it can be used in dozens of other applications, such as service stations, dormitories, complete homes, and others. “This versatility has already caught the eye of investors from Europe, Africa and Asia,” said Erivelto Mussio, G12 project leader.
One of the advantages of the Wet Core Pod involves the strategic alliances established for its development. In addition to the participation of G12 and two other Brazilian companies – Purcom and AJB –, also participated in the project the Argentinean companies MC and Plaquimet, and the French company Composite Integrity, which is part of the IS Group.
