FISH Marine Design | Composites, a British shipbuilder, has signed major contracts with Penteli Marine, a subsidiary of the CMI Offshore Group – a global provider of maritime and logistics services for the offshore oil and maritime sectors – in partnership with Ctruk Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based shipbuilder. These contracts cover the design of a 40-metre composite surface effect vessel (SES) and a range of air-cushion vessels (ACVs), types of craft that float above water or land using an air cushion.
FISH is part of the engineering team, alongside M2ED and EMS (Engineered Marine Systems), which will support the vessel’s construction. The ship will be built at Ctruk’s new waterside facility in Malaysia, which specializes in ACV technology and large vessels.
This vessel, a high-speed, long-range DP1 dedicated to crew transport, offers a spacious deck area and can accommodate up to 80 crew members in business-class seats. Featuring a modern design, it incorporates composite materials, which facilitate long-term maintenance and deliver fuel savings.
