At CHINAPLAS 2022, BASF will showcase a yoga mat by Keep, a leading China brand in the sports and fitness industry, made with Elastollan thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). For the yoga mat application, Elastollan is manufactured entirely through the unique Supercritical Fluid (SCF) foaming TPU technology.
Elastollan has a high melt strength and can produce a uniform foam structure without material deformation after prolonged use. The SCF foaming TPU technology also results in lightweight and cool-to-touch products.
Beyond sporting equipment, the SCF foaming TPU technology combined with agile prototyping and molding processes, has opened up design possibilities for shoemaking.
