Published : May 15, 2026

The first postgraduate course in composites and polymers in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, begins on September 13. As a result of the partnership between the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO) and the Institute for Technological Research (IPT), the course is aimed at engineering, architecture, design and administration professionals, as well as people interested in deepening their knowledge in the area. “Since 2012, when we launched postgraduate course in Brazil, we had been aiming to bring it to São Paulo, the largest composites market in the country. Now, with the support of IPT, we are able to make this project viable,” said Erika Bernardino Apra, president of ALMACO. To date, the course has been promoted in the cities of Curitiba, Caxias do Sul and Joinville, with about one hundred graduates. The postgraduate faculty in Sao Paulo are IPT´s researchers and market professionals with an extensive experience in composites, many of them with outstanding performance in the main companies in the sector. With 15 vacancies, lasting 496 hours and biweekly classes, the postgraduate activities will take place at IPT headquarters and Composites Technology Center (CETECOM), both located in Sao Paulo University, as well as at IPT Light Structures Center (LEL), in Sao Jose dos Campos.
